PLEXUS INTERNATIONAL
Plexus International started its activities in 1982 in New York City.
Plexus has realized in Dakar, Rome, Sardinia, Sidney, Amsterdam, Atlanta, and New York, many international experimental art events, called " Plexus Art Operas and Art Co-Operas", in which more 1000 artists and scientists, from different art fields and cultures, interacted together in the first person.
In direction to The Door of No Return of the House of the Slaves in the Gor Island, Dakar, Senegal, Africa, today under the drammatic risk of the sea erosion and symbol of the urgent need to save our world univeral cultural heritage, Plexus International is realizing an art journey, In order to survive, departed from the Lower East Side art community of New York in 1984 to defend freedom, against art slavery, any forms of human exploitation, old and new, against all violences, wars, poverty, and hunger, to promote all arts as resources for an equitable sustainable development of the living planet, with peace, mutual understanding and respect for nature and human rights for all.
Over the years Plexus events have built one upon the other. Each event takes place in its own present but it is made up of past concepts and activities while it projects its own various parts into the future activities of Plexus.
It is difficult to label Plexus or group activities under existing art categories, especially because Plexus intentionally resists to definitions.
